Lions Head Hike

Lions Head Hike is an easy to moderate route that winds up and around Lions Head in central Cape Town. You can dust off your shoes after only two hours in which time you would have ascended the mountain, experienced the 360° panoramic view of Cape Town and the Atlantic Seaboard, indulged in fresh air, feasted your eyes on the rich indigenous fynbos and descended the mountain.

Lions Head forms part of the Table Mountain National Park and is the mountain peak that frames the city of Cape Town to the right of Table Mountain. This is a popular hike among both locals and tourists. Join Cape Adventure Zone on an informative, guided, morning hike to the summit of Lions Head. Start your day in Cape Town with an outdoor activity that encompasses all the beauty of the Mother City.

Lion’s Head presents the perfect platform from where to launch. Feel on top of the world, literally, as you experience the excitement of moving with the air currents, 669 meters above sea level, with the Mother City and the sandy, white beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton far below.

Our experienced guides will assist adventurous hikers to negotiate the steeper rock faces by means of chains and ladders. For the less adventurous there is an alternative route that bypasses the climbing part of the walk. Either way you will reach the summit of Lions Head from where you can watch the sun rise over the awakening city and the beautiful Atlantic Coastline, with Robben Island in the distance.
