Only 24 kilometres from Swellendam, the Breede River winds its way through the wine lands below the Langeberg Mountains. The day starts by setting up camp then in the evening you will spend relaxing around the campfires underneath the centralized Lapa with a delicious dinner before heading to bed. We wake early for a healthy breakfast after which we are driven upstream to our put-in point. Here we have a safety briefing before getting into our 2 man inflatable rafts and spend the day paddling, negotiating rapids and enjoying the lovely landscape. We stop for lunch on a sand bar and hit the water again, arriving back at base camp. The rest of the day is spent at base camp swimming, playing games or renting fishing rods and trying your luck for some carp, springers, barbell or bass. On our last morning we will awake to the sounds of the resident Fish Eagles. A Xama farm style breakfast is prepared and enjoyed in the main Lapa. After breakfast one has the opportunity to relax around the camp, take a dip in the plunge pool or take a paddle up stream and enjoy a relaxing float back to camp. Departure is at your own leisure before 12pm.
