Experience isn’t necessary but be prepared for some scrambling and have a good head for heights.
With a knowledgeable guide, you will find the point where the hike gets its name as you pass along the edge of a vegetation triangle which grows on the side of Table Mountain. If you use your imagination, then this green triangle somewhat resembles the continent India “Venster” meaning “window” in the Afrikaans language. En-route you will come upon a rock that balances precariously atop the other rocks. Don’t worry though as it has been doing its balancing act for eons. This “rocky window” will give you an imposing and majestic view of the mountain face.
Your experienced guide will show you “Africa Ledge” overlooking Cape Town City while “Fountain Ledge” will give you captivating views of Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard. Watching an African sunset is an awe-inspiring example to enjoy life at a slower pace.
